Fim-Screening-and-discussion-beyond-forgiving
Lets go beyond forgiving!
How to move from being a victim to a survivor to a wounded healer? We explored this question in a joint session hosted by Interculturel Dialogue Institute Calgary and Initiatives of Change. A Dinner, Film and Discussion night screening the award winning short film Beyond Forgiving which show the story of two South Africans; a white mother of a slain daughter and a black Atheist commander of APLA under whose command her daughter was murdered.Through the movie and following discussion platform we learned about healing and reconciliation as exemplified in post-apartheid South Africa. As usual IDI served the most delicious Turkish dinner to accompany the discussion and to bring things to the next level they brought a young social activist rapper named Axiom who rapped the night away with wise words of personal and societal issues.
