Interfaith Panel
Faith perspectives on women’s role in public life were discussed at an interfaith panel organized by IDI GTA in collaboration with the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. The event was organized in celebration of International Women’s Day and gathered over 100 participants from various parts of GTA. Four major faith traditions were represented at the event: Buddhism by Rev. Jue Qian (Fo Guan Shan Temple), Judaism by Arliene Botnick (Solel Congregation of Mississauga), Christianity by MarilynElphick, (University of St. Michael’s College) and Islam by Aysh Koca (IDI GTA). The panel was moderated by Urz Heer, interfaith and human rights activist, as well as Rogers TV show host.
