Turkic Canadian Convntion is a large and an eminent annual gathering that intends to bring together a wide range of stakeholders from Canada and Turkic nations–Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan¬–including ministers, parliamentary members, senior government officials, senators, emissaries, leading policy makers, academics, leaders of Turkic diaspora, businesspersons, experts, private sector stakeholders, representatives of multinational corporations and etc. The last year’s convention was a great success with participation of two federal ministers, more than 25 MPs, four ambassadors and well over 200 prominent guests from Canada and abroad. Moreover, Hon. Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons was a keynote speaker of the 2013 Convention Gala Reception.
The convention is organized by Anatolian Heritage Federation which is the largest national Turkic organization in Canada representing over 24 community associations, cultural centers, business associations and educational institutions from coast to coast. Anatolian Heritage Federation has been a powerful advocate of the dialogue not only between the Turkic community of Canada and broader Canadian society, but also between Turkic countries and Canada.
Anatolian Heritage Federation strongly believes that this convention is an important avenue to explore the potential partnership areas and positively contribute to the current bilateral relations and political, social and economic ties between Turkic countries and Canada. This year’s convention program will feature high-profile events such as following: Luncheon with keynote addresses, Networking Breaks, three Panel Sessions concerning Canada’s Economic Diversification and Trade with Eurasia, Canada Strategic Partnership and Cooperation in Central Asia and the Caucasus and Silk Road Initiatives and a Gala Reception which will bring together dignitaries, prominent guests from Canadian society, delegations from Turkic countries attending the convention and many more.
