On January 12, 2015, a bomb blast tore through the tourist district, Sultanahmet neighborhood in Istanbul, killing at least 10 and wounding at least 15. The Anatolian Turkish Federation strongly condemns this senseless attack and encourages all those invested in the Canada-Turkey partnership to come together in this time of need.
Canada and Turkey have a long history of working jointly in service of global security, stability, and prosperity. The latest terror attack challenges these common efforts but it is our belief that today’s events will only draw us closer together.
We express our heartfelt condolences to the victims of today’s attacks, and pray that this tragedy only serves to embolden the Canada-Turkey alliance moving forward. The AHF is proud to stand in the center of the Canada-Turkey relationship, and we will do our part to urge strong bilateral cooperation during these trying times.
