The Anatolian Heritage Federation held its 1st Annual FriendshipReception at the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly on March 11, 2014. The event brought together not only the Turkic community, but also MLAs including Speaker of the House Dan D’Autremont, four Ministers, two Deputy Ministers, Opposition Leaders, twenty-three MLAs, and executive staff. During their speeches, the Speaker, Ministers and Opposition Leaders commended the activities of the “New Turkic Community” in Saskatchewan and emphasized the importance of working together toward improving relations and contributing to the local economy and community. The participants enjoyed Turkish culture and the wonderful Turkish cuisine, which was prepared by the volunteers of the Turkish Community.
